The College of Microscopy & McCrone Associates, Inc. present:
An Overview of Microanalytical Techniques

A special invitation is extended to AIC Members by the College of Microscopy and McCrone Associates, Inc. to attend this free seminar. Join other participants from industry, healthcare, forensics and art conservation to improve your knowledge of analytical instrumentation and its application to characterizations and identification of materials. McCrone scientists will review and highlight the following techniques/instrumentation.

• Sample preparation
• Light microscopy (Stereo & PLM)
• Electron microscopy (SEM/EDS & TEM)
• X-ray analysis (XRD)
• Surface analysis (ESCA)
• Microspectroscopy (Infrared & Raman)

After the presentations, participants will follow scientists in a case study to learn how each technique can be employed for specific analysis. Each participant will receive a folder of handouts on the instruments discussed, including information on: applications, limitations, analysis volume, sample requirements, and data generated.
