

 
Hooke College of Applied Sciences, a member of The McCrone Group located in Westmont, Illinois, is an educational institution whose mission is to provide engaging learning experiences for technicians and scientists worldwide. In addition to receiving instruction from industry's leading experts, each student will use the latest state-of-the-art equipment available in today's market. All of our light microscopy courses are taught with Olympus BX51 polarized light microscopes and Olympus SZX12 stereomicroscopes. Our scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) courses utilize the latest in JEOL instrumentation along with a variety of the world's best x-ray spectrometers. Allowing our students to work with the latest in SEM and TEM technology.
The Hooke College of Applied Sciences Campus
Completed in 2006, our 40,000 square foot teaching facility offers state-of-the-art microscopy equipment, modern classrooms and labs, and many other amenities. This facility is the new home for Hooke College and provides our students with a state-of-the-art learning environment.
All courses are held at the Hooke College of Applied Sciences facility, near the intersection of Kingery (Illinois Route 83) and Ogden Avenue (Illinois Route 34), in Westmont, Illinois a western suburb of Chicago.

Registration Confirmation
All students will receive an email confirmation of their course enrollment within one week of their registration. If you do not receive a confirmation within one week, please contact the Registrar at 630-887-7100.
Course Completion Requirement Policy
Students are expected to successfully complete a variety of tasks related to the material presented in the course. These tasks will be in the form of hands-on exercises, laboratory exercises, identifications of unknowns, and quizzes. In addition, the students are required to have 100% attendance during the course, participate in class, and complete a student evaluation form.
The student is notified at the end of the course whether or not they have successfully completed the requirements of the course based on attendance, class participation, completion of course material, and the student evaluation form. Upon successfully completing these requirements, a student will be awarded a certificate of completion and IACET CEU credits. Those who have not successfully passed the course requirements will not receive a certificate or CEU credits.
Cancellation Policy
All course cancellations must be dated, signed, and sent in writing via mail or fax to the Registrar.
Confirmed student registrations cancelled 15 or more calendar days prior to the course start date will receive a full tuition refund less a $50 processing fee.
Confirmed student registrations cancelled 8 to 14 calendar days prior to the course start date will be held liable for the entire tuition fee, with the option to transfer the payment for enrollment in another Hooke College of Applied Sciences course. The entire tuition fee can also be transferred to another student from the same company (one-time transfer within one year of the originally scheduled course).
Confirmed student registrations cancelled 7 calendar days or less prior to the course start date are liable for the entire tuition fee without the opportunity to transfer the tuition fee for enrollment in another Hooke College of Applied Sciences course.
Confirmed registered students who are not present on the first day of the course will forfeit their enrollment, the entire tuition fee, and will not have the option to transfer the tuition fee for enrollment in another Hooke College of Applied Sciences course.
Hooke College of Applied Sciences reserves the right to change and/or cancel scheduled courses due to low registrations, or for any other reason, without financial obligation. In the event of a course cancellation, Hooke College of Applied Sciences will notify all registered students at least 5 business days prior to the course start date.

Smoking Policy
Hooke College of Applied Sciences is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted in a designated area outside the facility.
Tax Deduction for Education Purposes
The Internal Revenue Service permits an income tax deduction for educational expenses including registration and materials fees, travel expenses, meals and lodging; which are used for the purpose of maintaining and or improving skills required in one's employment, or other trade.
